After putting the building of ZEISS OFFICES into operation in September 2023, the remaining interior works are currently underway. As soon as these works are finished, the building will be able to fully welcome its tenants, among whom is the state-owned development finance institution ALTUM, whose Riga Regional Centre has been serving clients in the ZEISS OFFICES premises since November 6.
The public limited company ALTUM provides financing in areas identified and supported by the state as important, where credit institutions do not offer sufficient financing. Through its operations, ALTUM provides support for starting businesses, their development, innovation implementation, export promotion, housing purchasing, and other objectives. At the Riga Regional Centre customers can receive consultations about the support opportunities provided by the state, and clients of state support programmes from Riga, Jūrmala, Ogre, Sigulda and other territories near Riga are welcomed here.
“In these times, we make sustainable decisions. Also, in choosing the office, we mainly evaluated the possibilities of moving to a more energy-efficient building, thus thinking about sustainability-appropriate functionality, as well as social and economic profitability. Evaluating the forecasts so far, the heating energy consumption in the newly built class A office building will be two times lower than in the previous rented premises," says Daina Cinovica, Head of the Centre Region at ALTUM.
"Among the residents of MŪKU SALA are all kinds of companies - very small start-ups, international industry leaders, medium-sized local companies - so it is very important for us to provide an environment that is suitable for any company. Therefore, the arrival of the public limited company ALTUM at ZEISS OFFICES is another confirmation that our efforts matter, and that this is a place where the opportunity to create a suitable office is available to everyone," says Iveta Bahmane, Chairwoman of the Board of the Mūkusala Business Centre.
The total leasable area of ZEISS OFFICES is 4300 m2. The building is certified according to the requirements of the BREEAM Excellent sustainability certificate, and the project includes class A energy-efficient air cooling, ventilation, and heating systems. The ZEISS OFFICE building is named in honour of the Carl Zeiss optical factory, which was located in the same place at the beginning of the 20th century - references to the former building can also be found in the design of the facade of the new building. The building was put into operation in September 2023, and it is planned that the tenants will be welcomed in the premises at the end of the year. Companies such as Given Latvia, Pro Gaisma, ABB, DUAL Arhitekti and Helmes Latvia have already chosen ZEISS OFFICES as their new home.
